One of the oldest Catholic sacramentals, worn for protection against evil. The letters are the initials of Latin prayers: on the cross, Crux Sacra Sit Mihi Lux (May the holy cross be my light); around the edge, Vade Retro Satana (Begone, Satan).
A cross that carries the ancient power of protection. The St. Benedict medal rests at its heart.
The front features the iconic St. Benedict medal at the center, set against a white enameled cross with silver tone metal detailing. The medal bears the image of St. Benedict holding the Holy Rule and a cross, surrounded by the inscription invoking his intercession against evil.
The reverse displays the Crucifix with Christ in fine relief, His outstretched arms echoing the cross's protective form. Above Him, the St. Benedict medal repeats its sacred symbols of spiritual warfare.
St. Benedict of Nursia, father of Western monasticism, is revered for his power against temptation and evil. His medal has protected the faithful for centuries through its Latin prayers and symbols.
