One of the oldest Catholic sacramentals, worn for protection against evil. The letters are the initials of Latin prayers: on the cross, Crux Sacra Sit Mihi Lux (May the holy cross be my light); around the edge, Vade Retro Satana (Begone, Satan).
A shield against darkness, carried in your hand. This medal holds the power of a prayer more ancient than empires.
The obverse features the traditional Benedict Cross surrounded by the letters C S S M L - N D S M D and the words PAX at the top. The silver tone finish highlights the sacred Latin abbreviations that invoke protection against evil.
The reverse depicts St. Benedict in full monastic habit, holding the cross and the Rule, flanked by a chalice and raven—symbols of his miraculous interventions against poison. The inscription reads "EIVS IN OBITU NRO PRAESENTIA MVNIAMVR" (May we be strengthened by his presence at our death).
St. Benedict of Nursia is the father of Western monasticism and a mighty intercessor against spiritual attack. His medal has been treasured for centuries as a sacramental of protection.
This medal is made with traditional craftsmanship and features a sturdy jump ring for wearing on a chain or attaching to a rosary. Blessed by Pope Leo XIV in St. Peter's Square.
