Frequently asked questions

What is a St. Francis relic medal?

A medal that holds a second-class relic, a small piece of cloth touched to the saint or to his tomb. We never sell first-class relics.

What does the Tau cross mean?

Tau is the last letter of the Hebrew alphabet. St. Francis used it as his signature and as a sign of conversion, and Franciscans wear it to this day.

Why the wolf on the medal?

It recalls the story of the wolf of Gubbio, which Francis tamed and made peace with the town, a sign of his love for all creatures.
