When the bishop asked for a sign, she sent Juan Diego to gather roses in winter. As he opened his tilma before the bishop, the roses fell and her image appeared on the cloth. That tilma still hangs in the Basilica of Guadalupe and is visited by millions every year.
Our Lady of Guadalupe is the Patroness of the Americas and of the unborn. Her feast on December 12 is one of the great celebrations of the year for Mexican and Mexican American families, and many keep her image at home all year.
For this devotion we carry a small pendant that pairs Our Lady of Guadalupe with the Divino Niño, the Child Jesus venerated in Colombia. It is a simple, affordable gift for a child, a godchild or anyone who loves both devotions. For more Marian medals and rosaries, visit Our Lady or find a patron saint. We ship worldwide from Rome, and delivery to the US typically takes 2 to 3 weeks, so order early for December 12.
