Saint Elizabeth Bichier des Ages (1773-1838) was a French nun who, alongside Saint Andrew Fournet, founded the Congregation of the Daughters of the Cross (also known as the Sisters of Saint Andrew). During the turbulent period of the French Revolution, she courageously served the persecuted Church, sheltering priests and maintaining Catholic worship when it was forbidden. Her congregation dedicated itself to educating children and caring for the sick and poor in rural France. She was beatified in 1934 and canonized by Pope Pius XII in 1947, celebrated for her unwavering faith and charitable works.
